16/06/2008Brendan and Phoenix - Awesome again!
<- PreviousNext ->
Toowoomba played host to round two of the Qld Leopard Series Sunday 15th, and Brendan Nelson in his new Phoenix dominated the racing again in Leopard Light, following on from his win at Rockhampton last week.

The Phoenix kart was unbeaten in four starts, starting from grids 8 and 7 out of 14 karts, as he quickly made his way to the front and pulled comfortable gaps in both heats. From pole in the pre-final he took an all the way 3 second win, but the final was more difficult as Trent and Adam Mercer made a strong move against him for the first couple of laps, jamming him back to third place, but it was wasn't strong enough as Brendan muscled his way back to the front and pulled away for a dominant victory by 3 seconds again.

Brendan said the kart performed magnificently and just kept coming on. Brendan's record since starting in Leopard is formidable, with 10 wins, 1 second and a DNF from 12 starts!

The Nelson Phoenix team now gets ready for the State Titles in Rockhampton in a couple of weeks, making an assault on Clubman Heavy and Leopard Light, and defending their Title in Senior National Light.

Brendan is also riding high in Clubman Heavy, having wrapped up the Gladiator 5 round series recently with 3 round wins and a second, and still with 1 round remaining.

Go the Phoenix!!!
