Back in the hunt!

Phoenix flies…1, 2 at Lithgow!

The Dynamite boys (responsible for giving Elvis the best possible chance at an Endurance Title) would never forget that fateful round at Newcastle. After suffering various dramas they lost their Championship lead, and it’s been real tough to get back from last years series winners who took it!

In the following two rounds they did enough to manage a podium finish both times. Considering the competition a great result! Problem was the Championship leaders were finishing ahead of them. Heading into Lithgow with double points on offer and only two rounds to follow anything less than maximum points would not be good enough (they trailed the leaders by 17 points). They were going with extra support! Kinetic Motorsport, a gun team from previous years recently changed to the new Elvis chassis, and Colmac another well known and experienced endurance team.

All three teams performed well with Dynamite leading through most of Race 1 and recording the fastest time. Kinetic couldn’t be matched for outright speed in both wet and intermediate conditions to take a well deserve win in Race 2. After combining points for both races the only team to take more round points than Dynamite was Kinetic (who were not competing for the Championship). Both Phoenix’s flew all day in all conditions to come home 1st and 2nd !

Just to add icing to the cake the current Championship leaders finished well down the ladder. Dynamite now sit 5 points behind with two round to go! Bring on Newcastle!

Thanks to Mick and Colmac for a brilliantly prepared kart!
